Used in aromatherapy to help relieve colds/cough.

This essential oil is particularly intoxicating. The greatest perfumers in the world—Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes, Fabergé, etc.—have formulated fragrances based on geranium. However, only a few drops of pure geranium essential oil (EO) will be enough to perfume you in the morning. In addition, its citronellol content will chase annoying mosquitoes!

New Roots Herbal has chosen an EO from Egyptian rose geranium flowers. The main active components of the EO are citronellol and geraniol, two monoterpenols, as well as esters and sesquiterpenes. This synergy gives geranium some very interesting properties in natural medicine.

Its anti-inflammatory activity is confirmed by various studies demonstrating the reduction, by the EO, of well-known inflammatory markers such as tumor necrosis factor TNFα and interleukins IL‑1, IL‑6, and IL‑10. Also, while not a substitute for insulin, geranium EO helps balance glycemia in diabetics, who know it well. For people with hypoglycemia and its symptoms (cravings, tiredness, etc.), it will be a valuable help.

A remarkable hormonal and nervous balancer, geranium EO potentiates, thanks to its monoterpenols, the activity of GABA and its receptors. It also allows multiple uses for the skin and the scalp. It promotes the firmness of tissues; prevents hair loss, wrinkles, and age spots; while beautifying your complexion. The EO enters formulas to treat wounds, bedsores, warts, blisters, or hemorrhoids. Anti-Stretch Express Recipe: 15 drops of essential oil in 1 teaspoon of argan oil or New Roots Herbal’s Skin Lovers. One to three applications per day after the third month of pregnancy.
