Doctor Goodwin Inspiration Story

Because Doctor Goodwin is a Dr. Pepper alternative, Doctor Goodwin's inspiration story starts with Dr. Pepper's inspiration story. But of course, in addition to being created using better for you and functional ingredients, we added an OLIPOP twist. Knowing that Dr. Pepper was created because the inventor wanted to replicate the smells of walking into a soda pharmacy. Ben Goodwin, our co-founder and formulator, took that story as inspiration but also wanted Doctor Goodwin to be its own expression of uniquely combined ingredients. With that in mind, he aimed to have a similar taste but be able to stand on its own two feet with a kitchen sink of flavors. Therefore, Ben worked intensely with a flavor lab, doing hundreds of tests to get to the flavor we have today. It's tricky to not only get close to the authentic Dr. Pepper flavor but also to put an original spin on it inspired by the original ethic.

Our sodas have around 5% of the sugar found in leading brand sodas and are flavored with plant-based ingredients and botanicals instead of artificial flavors and ingredients. All products are Non-GMO, Vegan, Paleo, and Keto-friendly. Further, each OLIPOP flavor incorporates a unique blend of ingredients that carefully complement each other to create a balanced flavor profile as delicious as it is good for you.
